Following an invitation from the national ‘People Making Waves’ organisation to Go Dundee to lead a Dundee Wave of Change project, one of only three in Scotland, the members of the Go Dundee subscription list were invited to join a Dundee Wave of Change core
group and begin a process of creative conversation. Forty people responded positively and took part in four meetings between December 2009 and October 2010.
The core group discussed and agreed the
overall aims and activities for A Dundee Wave of Change and also developed a number of specific projects. Strategically it was agreed by the group that the objective of the Dundee Wave of Change project was to add value to Dundee’s social and cultural future by engaging with communities across the city.
The core group also generated their own views about Dundee’s future and these can be found on the individual core group meeting pages.
Core Group Meeting 1 – defining our communities and exploring how we may communicate and engage people.
Core Group Meeting 2 – engaging communities and ideas for projects and/or events.
Core Group Meeting 3 – feedback on Hot Chocolate project – developing thematic community events
Core Group Meeting 4 – ‘Your life in 2020’ – headlines exercise to stimulate creative thinking and storytelling for the future.
