Dundee Wave of Change explained

Objective

As part of the People Making Waves project (the Scottish component of the Olympic Legacy Trust UK) the Dundee Wave of Change project seeks to engage directly with Dundee’s population, encouraging and supporting them to create personal stories about their experiences, friendships and connections.  The purpose of Dundee Wave of Change is:

Dundee Wave of Change is a community story-telling initiative. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to tell their stories, inspire their communities and build a people’s future for the city.

The Olympic values can be used as a starting point to imagine a different future for Dundee:

• excellence
• friendship
• respect
• determination
• inspiration
• courage
• equality

The Dundee Wave of Change project is inviting people to think about and discuss:

- The values of a future Dundee

- New forms and practices of participation

- How to imagine, describe and achieve change

The activities organised by Dundee Wave of Change will be about creating opportunities for dialogue, engaging people in imagining Dundee’s potential and, ultimately, creating a people’s vision of what the city could become by 2020.

The Go Dundee network of volunteers is providing co-ordination and resources for the Dundee Wave of Change project.
