Dundee wave of change update

Steve and I met today to pull together the flipcharts from the event last week & we will be posting them on the Dundee Wave of Change page of the Go Dundee website soon…

We will send out an email update to those that registered soon.

There has been a request for a follow up meeting and we are planning this for the last… week in January to agree next steps and begin to plan two further events before end of March 2010.

There has been a request for opportunity to share email addresses and we are considering this – and also considering the possibility of creating a Ning (http://www.ning.com/) website for the Dundee wave of change – to better enable communication and creation of ’spin off’ groups who want to run their own events.

Great to see the facebook group growing!

Okay – sitting at your computer at 03:45 starting a blog post is not normal; I accept that. It’s usually a sign that something’s wrong; but not on the morning of Sunday 30th August 2009. No – the reason I was sat typing up notes wasn’t because anything was wrong, but rather that my brain was buzzing with inspiration.

Measuring what matters

OK not a Go Dundee event, but a superb event never the less. Held in Dundee on 27th March 2009 chaired by Stewart Murdoch – and it was a sell out. Keynotes by Nic Marks of NEF and Ron Coleman of GPI Atlantic.

So, if you didn’t get the chance to be at the conference, and even if you were but would like a refresher of the key ideas, why not invest 9 mins 21 secs watching this highlight video filmed & edited by Nick Wilding of the Carnegie UK Trust below.

Lorraine Kelly speaks positively about Dundee

I was at Stuart Cosgrove & Tam Cowan’s show ‘Off the Ball’ which was presented at Baldragon Academy Dundee today (28th June) & it was great to hear special guest Lorraine Kelly speak positively about Dundee!

I spoke to her briefly and she’s agreed to participate in a future Go Dundee event.  For more see my blog article here.

Conversation, Music and Positive Emotion

On Monday 16th June we had our latest Go Dundee meeting.

IMG_6233_go dundee

It was a tremendous success with almost 150 people gathering to engage in dialogue around the issues of optimism, confidence and positive emotion.

Carol Craig spoke, we had the Dundee based band the Hazey Janes play a short unplugged set, and we engaged in dialogue around questions that mattered to us.

We will upload more onto the site when we get time:

  • photos,
  • recording of Carol’s talk (as an MP3 / podcast)
  • feedback/comments/ideas explored from the evening

Blog – thoughts, musings and comments…
